The Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) and Apathy Is Boring are hosting “Engaging Youth in Local Democracy and Elections” on October 19th. This session is part of AMO’s Healthy Democracy Forum, which is a two-day workshop focused on improving Ontario’s democracy.

The Office of Mayor Olivia Chow is hiring for the Director of Communications position. They are seeking an experienced communications professional to lead a small team and play a pivotal role on the senior leadership team at the Mayor’s Office. The Interim VP of Research & Advocacy leads all work associated with identifying the causes and consequences of poverty as well as evidence-based solutions. The VP works with other departments to mobilize the community in order to advocate with all levels of government on poverty reduction initiatives. These initiatives include the development and support of social policy, raising awareness, and advocacy mobilization to find long-term solutions to poverty reduction. 🍏🧺
3. Policy Advisor — Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO)
LCBO is looking for a Policy Advisor to conduct research and provide recommendations and support to departments, the LCBO’s Board and Senior Management, and the Government of Ontario on legislative and regulatory matters. The Policy Advisor will prepare and provide briefing notes, correspondence and presentations on government and corporate policies and programs; develop relationships with LCBO partners; stay up to date with public policy developments and government issues related to the LCBO; and more. 🍸🍷🥂
4. Senior Policy Advisor— Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO)
The LCBO is also looking for a Senior Policy Advisor to lead complex research, provide expert policy advice to other advisors/analysts, and evaluate latest issues to support LCBO departments, the LCBO’s Board and Senior Management, and the Government of Ontario on matters on the beverage alcohol marketplace. 11. Director of Communications & Stakeholder Relations — Alliance for Healthier Communities
The Director of Communications and Stakeholder Relations will monitor and respond to relevant government activity, analyze government legislation and regulation that impacts Alliance members and clients, develop and implement advocacy and communications strategies to advance the Alliance’s strategic plan, and ensure the high quality delivery of the Alliance’s public policy agenda.
